View Full Version : POLY TRANS (Plugin)
amuthan 05-30-2002, 11:33 AM Hi Guys,
I have a problem.
I want to open a scene file or model which I made with Maya in 3Ds MAX.
I got to know that I can do it with Polytrans for Maya plug-in.
(1) Is there anybody who has used this plug-in before?
(2) I want to know hos effective this plug-in is.
And how does this export.
I don't like a DXF export/import.
Therefore
(3) Is there any other way other than Ploytrans for my task?
Can you please help me?
Regards,
Amuthan

I have PolyTrans, and I have to say I like it :)
And if you can get PolyTrans plugins for both Max and Maya, you can export and import againwith PolyTrans' own fileformat, which means you get a perfect link up with the two progies

Ok.
Polytrans 2.2 is a standalone software ok?
There is a Polytrans plugin for Maya which you install in Maya like other Maya plugins. Can you please explain me how do u install and where do u get the output file?
Thanks:beer:
Just spoke of this on another thread...go figure.
Try Deep Paint's Exploration.
Here's the link to try it out:

But I can't through away my polytrans plugin which i bought for almost $ 390.
Didn't you get any install instructions with it? I don't think the install was anything special, I just installed it... bah, can't remember now, it's been awhile since I installed it :) (And I'm falling asleep while typing ;))
Oh and what do you mean by the output file?

How do u get that? I mean do u export or save as??
I run the polytrans plugin, then select the "Export" menu and then select the filetype as 3ds. Or was this what you ment?
