I'm putting together a new computer with new parts except for a 600 watt power supply I have from my old system. The old system is a couple years old and my new one will be using an asus sabertooth x58 and core i7 930. My video card is an old quadro that was with the 600 watt power supply. Will this old power supply work? Will I blow anything up if I try it? It should is an ATX 12v but I read something about i7 using EPS (which is part of ATX?) I'd rather not spend a $ 100 bucks if I don't have to.

Thanks.

It should do fine. Chances are the Core i7 will use less power than whatever you were using before.

Thanks for the advice but it doesn't fit after all. Guess hp didn't bother with atx 2.0 for their computers.

What do you mean it doesn't fit? Like the motherboard connector is 20 pin instead of 24 pin? Or like they are completely different?
