Ok, this is about 4 to 5 hours of work, and I haven't even begun to optimize the mesh yet. I'm also working without a concept, as I'm going off my mental image of the trolls from Blizzard's Warcraft series. I will definitely adjust a lot of those polies to put them to better use, and I also gotta build the body. I just wanted to get the head out for C&C.

I'm also torn about making the mohawk a plane. I'm just not experianced enough with those, to know how to use it effectivly.

He seems a little cartoony.. too many simple curves.

Make the back of the neck a little more straight. Dont make the mohawk so perpendicular (I guess wait until after you mirrored the head for good to do this). Have it kinda leaning back and forth between the 2 hemispheres of the head.

Push those ear vertices much furhter into the head. Have you ever noticed how deep a dogs ear crevice is?

You know from the front he looks more like a bugbear than a troll. Maybe too canine with how the nose looks from this viewport.

Thanks for the comments! You have to understand that I'm in no way happy with the model as it is now. I wouldn't even have stopped to make a screen shot, but I have a 12 year old cousin who obsesses over the models I make, and demands to see a screen every 5 minutes! UGH! But I figured I'd throw it up here for feedback during its creation.

I am however going for a bit of a cartoony look, but there are lots of tweaks I need to do still. I'm trying to make him look humanoid like, yet still with something very primal about him, almost alien. I hadn't even done anything with the neck at the time of this shot, it was there just to build a body from. :)

oXYnary, what do you mean about the ear? Do you mean in the part that is closest to the cheeks?

u could loose a few polys on the eyes. that would get the poly count down, and u wouldn't notice a reduction after texturing them. Just a suggestion. I do like the sketch :)

I found the mouth a little strange, especially the tooths. Your troll will had problems for eating I think. Else, the head is nice.
