I think I'll start a little thread.
Here are my 3 latest "projects" (in order of appearance ;)).
The Wave (http://vimeo.com/9960536): that was still with Houdini 10. Took a few days to complete, mostly due to resimulating for the spray particles. Oh, and of course the render times.
Then came Houdini 11 with the integrated Voronoi Fracture tool:
Metaball Explosion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsVajsG5kZU): a solidified tube and a magnet force metaball. A bang in a studio environment. :D
Building Collapse (http://vimeo.com/15664031): had a look at johner's settings for his collapsing building, and tried to recreate something similar to this. But not as an explosion, but the collapse being caused by a wrecking ball. Yeah, I know that one's flying; anybody knows how to attach a wire to the RBD sphere and its pin? Anyway, didn't want to render it in a neutral environment, so I composited the sim into the default environment material.
What have you been doing lately? If you like, simply post your stuff in this thread.
Cheers,
