'Armstrong' reports that famed Las Vegas magician Roy Horn of the "Siegfried and Roy" duo remained in critical but stable condition today after being mauled by a white tiger during a performance on his 59th birthday. The 7-year-old male tiger, named Montecore, grabbed Horn's forearm about halfway into the Friday night performance at the Mirage hotel-casino. When Horn tried to fend the tiger off with his microphone, the tiger lunged and bit him on the left side of the neck, causing profuse blood loss, they said. It is unclear at this point whether and how this unfortunate event will affect Father of the Pride, DreamWorks' CGI animated series about a family of white lions who work as performers in the Las Vegas act of Siegfried & Roy.

I also heard that all animation for "Father of the Pride" was being farmed out to a studio in China.

Yeah, I just saw this story on CNN.

The tiger dragged Roy around the stage by his neck while he beat the tiger in the head with his microphone. They said the audience thought it was all part of the act!?!

I had never heard of this Dreamworks project before. Thanks for mentioning it. Im also curious about how they'll handle it.

Three cheers for the tiger!!

They probably will take it out on the tiger by putting him down.
The lack of respect such circus acts have for animals, I find unbelievable.

Man bad and mean, big kitty kat good and all wise.

Try doing some background work on the millions those two las vegas entertainers have devoted to a multitude of animal aid projects. However, they aren't involved with the coo coo types such as E.L.F.

Erm, I aint no massive fan of Seigfreid or Roy or anything - whatever flips yer switch - but I'm pretty certain these guys look after their tigers *real* well.

Haven't you ever read about their efforts in breeding tigers? You can even see what they get up to *ahem* at the Mirage if you are ever in Vegas.... if anyone puts this animal down it will be for the right, properly ratified reasons and hey! - it probably won't be these two poodle permers that sanction it....

How about that fool in NY city that was found to have a tiger and a cayman in his apartment. Seems he went to emergency to have what he called a "dog" bite attended to and the staff felt the size of the bite was too large to be a dog bite.
Authorities were notified after the fool fled to find medical attention at a different (and more gullible) medical facility. Police discovered a full sized tiger and an alligator type critter (cayman) in his New York apartment.

The neighbor in the apartment located directly below the tiger equipped apartment had apparently been witnessing liquid passing down from his ceiling from time to time. Specialists have identified it to be tiger urine.:surprised

Yep, that's the usual alternative to capital punishment in the U.S.;)

AFAIK, the white tigers aren't a separate species, just regular bengals with a genetic anomaly. They'd have a tough time surviving in the wild, but for the Vegas act they are inter-bred (and in-bred). Of course, it would still be a shame to put the tiger down. It's only doing what comes naturally.

Well, it just goes to show, no matter what, a wild animal is still a wild animal, and sometimes they just do that.

It was bound to happen sooner or later.
