ive been piddlin about this thing for the past week or so for about 2-3 hours a night. im not too happy with some spots, but others im pretty happy with. When she is in ut2k3 the spec really helps the skin out too, brightens some areas up some and gives it some actual surface quality.

her name is Lady No. 5. heh, i listened to A LOT of SoilWork while making her (actually it was the only band i listened to) so thanks SoilWork for the inspiration of her name :)

anywho, thrash away

I’d like to know the poly count, and some shots of her wires would never hurt.

it reminds me heavily of hera, a higher poly model pimped on the front page by a VFS student.

The model looks great . I love the overall colors and the cyborg kind off fill . Great job . It fits perfectly into UT 2003 world .

I don't want to conflict to much with what Warhawk just said, but I think the colors come off a bit artifacty. It looks like a really good model though, you've mapped it well too making no wasted space. Maybe its just because I haven't plaued much UT2k....

gotta love the action shot though! w00t

thanks yall.

i forgot to mention, this is just a skin, i didnt do the model. im not sure of the polycount, i didnt map it either. i wanted to contrain myself to someone else's mapping (ah the pain) to get it done.

i dont come or post here often, just thought id throw this out to the masses :)

It is a skin for a model I did some months ago, the polycount is about 3200 if I remember correctly but I can't post wireframe shots right now because I am not at my computer for the next few of days.

Anyways, glad you like it ;)

I started to do a skin also, but I suck at skinning :(
Moose is planning to do two quick CTF versions and I am going to release the baby as soon as I get the skin from Moose ;)

P.S.: Originally this model was based on the Robots from the Björk video "All is full of Love" but as you can see Moose decided to give it a different twist.

Dude what in the world are you posting that for, yes the skin may be the same but other then that it's totaly two diff models. Please forgive him and nice job. now on to a C&C maybe taken down the contrast on the green armor, and raise the contrast on the gray armor to make it feel a little more rich in color

I'm posting it because I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

ok first off, thanks quandry for being constructive. second, yall need to chill out. The first time ive seen that model and texture was in this thread (although i may have seen it at KAFI back in may but i really cant remember).

If you dont want to believe me, thats fine. I assure yall that i did not rip any design ideas from hogan in the creation of this... i made it at home, without a netconnect.

She was originally painted orange, with a realisticly painted face. I felt it wasnt as strong and didnt fit, so i made it green and gave the face a colder, more dead look (but still keeping some blood and translucency) on a whim. pure coincedence, this skin is green, parts of hogan's texture are green. they really arent remotely the same, just similar.

i didnt post here for people to make accusations, i wanted some advise and crits (guess i shoulda said that eh?), but i thought that was implied given the forum name. ah well.

i dont mean to be an ass here, i just want to set my ground that others have so politely knocked out from under me.

tylak: yeah yer right. i initially put that in for surface variation, but im pretty sure i know whats frutifying the colors. i wanted to try some colored noise blured to hell in it... that should be whats jacking it up. Other than that, i had a buch of layers for just paint color shifts, that i think turned out (in the end) more like a camo type approach. gah, doh. mistake made, and learned from. heheheh yeah i saw that anim in 2k3 and i had to put that in there ;) thanks!

warhawk: sweet, twas my goal :)

I think you've done a really nice job with your painting...

Am I missing the reason that her eyes are crossed?
