View Full Version : A little feedback on a script please...
This is a little script.
Also, what this script does may already exists in LW, but have you ever Unweld points and have 4 or more points all in the exact same spot!
The only way I ever had to pick just one was to select a polygon and then move the point connected to that polygon. Well, that's why I made this script: SelectOne
It does just that. If you've selected more than one point or polygon, it gives you a simple list of them for you to choose which stays selected.
Is this helpful?
Does it already exist in LW and I missed it?
Thanx.
(another idea from trying out Rhino...)

sweet, nice plugin.
but there are ways of selecting that point ...
select another point from the same polygon--->use select conected--->and now you have that point and some more selected so deselect the ones you don't want.
the other ones is nearly what you said: select a polygon and then move the point connected to that polygon. ----> select the point----> undo and the point still selected.
Anyway sometimes doing that is a pain in the ....
And this plugin is great when you need to put those points apart, actually that's for what I'm going to use it.
Thanks

Unless I misunderstood something you can get the same functionality by pressing "i", or the Info button under the Details tab.

I was just wondering if there was a good way to do this. I got a little carried away with the merge points command, and welded a few unintended points together. I guess next time i run into such a problem i will have a good solution. Way to go Cman!!:applause:

Ahhh... just what I wanted to see.
I will try your tip.
....
Well, I was not able to get LW to deselect the other points.
I made a 2D box, subdivided, select the center point and Unweld. I have 4 points selected.
Using "i"/info I was not able to select just one quickly. I had to deselect the others.
Is that what you meant?
Or did I do your tip incorrectly???

Yeah, that was what I meant. However I forgot to try your script before I posted. You're way of one point selection is much faster.
Btw your Pivot Bounding Box script came in real handy, thanks alot:thumbsup:

Cman, you ROCK! :buttrock:
Thanks for the script! I was unwelding some points this morning and thinking, there's got to be a better way to select just the one point I want.
Muchas Gracias!

Glad you found PivotBB useful, but there's a weird thing with that. If you load an object in Layout, then go to Modeler and change the Pivot, the Layout Pivot does not update!
Don't know why, or if I'm doing something wrong, but it ****s. :(
