Great model and all but i really think HDRI would make this image complete. The standard dull reflections just dont make it.

Heja Sverige förresten! =)

Cool! The flares look like the ones on Mercedes CLK DTM.

Why is that spoiler mounted that way???

That will only slow your car down considerably not to mention break of

CHRiTTeR: why do you think almost all racecars have wings? they have more HP than grip so they need more downforce.

mracer: look at the filename at the bottom of the pic :)

AWESOME!
I love Golf's.... especially mkI and II....
I think you shall replace the small chrome mirrors with some DTM mirrors, they have better aerodynamic, and it seems that this car has some great aerodynamic!

The spoiler / wing looks a bit weird to me... it seems like it's mounted the wrong way.

It's not so easy to see, but here's a yaris with a hatch spoiler:

And here's some DTM mirrors on a mkI:

Fixed a texture for it now, so this should be the final version :)

Love your work, and since you only needed less than 9 minutes to render (when I'm thinking about my rendering times with PovRay :surprised ) , this work is very awesome.

nice model (men det är ju fortfarande en gammal golf :) den rostiga passar bättre hehe)

the version with decals look better than the black one.

I LOVE it....

Obbiz: En Golf kan jo se bra ut selvom den er gammel. Er veldig populært å restaurere / pusse opp disse bilene. :)

I see what you mean pZion but I am of the opinion that a car should be faster than it looks not the other way around :)

it's still a great model though in terms of 3d modeling. :)

Nice work, i'd say add a towing ring, how can it be a race version if it doesnt have the towing rings :)

And looks wierd, a race car in front of a graffiti wall. heh.
Looks great, maybe materials could be improved a bit.

cheers

It's no problem to make a Golf go fast... add a VR6 engine, turbo convertion and so on.... but enough off-topic...

Nice Golf! :D

Great model, GRID, but the rear wing is on backwards. Unless it's not a wing but an airbrake...

GRID

Wings are there to create downforce, when the grip isnt good enough. So it has to stop the air if it should work like it´s supposed to.

pZion: that´s not DTM mirrors, if you look at the DTMcars that they run today they look alot different.

most wings are just like airplane wings but upside down to create downforce instead of lift.

GRID's wing looks ok to me but the side supports (black things in the ends) or whatever you might wanna call them looks a bit weird but that wouldn't do too much difference in terms of aerodynamics.

Looks great but you really should sort out that rear spoiler, if i wasn't at work id show you a diagram explaining the airflow around the spoiler and why it has to be parallel to the ground.

If that were a real car it would slow it down considerably, and as stated before at high speed it would probably break off.

Apart from that great work.

Well, they are so-called "DTM Cup mirrors"... i don't know anything about DTM cars, i only know that these mirrors are called DTM Cup mirrors

The wing IS the correct way round. I think it's the angle that it's rendered at that causes an optical illusion - it's hard to tell where the leading edges are. My apologies, GRID.

Yeah, I know that  , but I thought the spoiler was mounted wrong, now I see I didn't look well.

But thanks for yhe info anyway

Sorry, my fault :shame:

Its a very nice looking render and the model is well done! I think the images, well speecifically the lighting on the car, is a bit on the dark side though. Seems too black underneigth.. Otherwise its very nice

Could you post a low poly wire of the car please?
