View Full Version : Particle Radius change over Lifespan

Hi folks,

I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm new to using Maya Particles and I am trying to change the radius of Cloud s/w particles over the course of their lifespan. For example, at birth having a radius of 2 and by the time they die having a radius of say 0.5.

It's a noob-ish question I know but any suggestions would be great.

On your particle shape add a General attribute under Per Particle (Array) Attributes and under the Particles tab find radiusPP. Add it, then right click the attribute in the attribute editor and click Create Ramp.

This will create a ramp that you can modify which will scale your paritcle's radius over it's lifespan. You can also use this for all sorts of particles attributes (opacity, color, etc...).
