So. A coworker and I are collaborating to create an animated short that is a tribute to the Heavy Metal franchise. We have begun some preliminary storyboards but they are extremely rough and I feel that it would be better to assemble a realistic group before proceeding. Currently we have the roles of Animator and VFX artist filled. We could always use a second animator but the roles I believe we would need are listed below. Just to be clear I wouldn't participate in anything that isn't realistically achievable nor would I want to drag anyone else into a rabbit hole where the outcome wasn't worth it. This is purely for the fun of it and because it would look really cool. We are still in the storyboarding phase but we have a fairly concrete idea laid down. This project would be fairly involved to accomplish so if you are interested let me know. My email and info is listed below. Just as a brief synopsis I have a simple explanation listed below.

The Idea

So what we are going for is a colosseum style battle with a slave woman warrior who is pitted against a set of creatures she must battle to spare her life and possibly earn her freedom. This is all implied and there would be no dialogue just the action of the piece.

That would mean we would need creatures, Environments, Characters, etc.

Roles
Lead Animator: Rico Flores
Lead VFX Artist: Doug Holder
Vacant Roles
Concept Artist
Animator(subject to change depending on work load)
Modeler(2)
Lighter/Render/Look Dev
Environment Artist
Surfacer/Texture Artist
Comper/Grader

There could me more roles needed but I would hope to have some people who are
proficient in one of these skills and have anything else as a secondary skill. For example I can Comp but it's not my primary skill just something I'm can do if need be. I realize not having any boards up right now is not a show of good faith for how dedicated we are to completing this task but with a good crew of people who are motivated we could create some much better boards to use for production. Anyway let me know My reel and Rico's reel are below.
