I have seen, by observation here, that many folk may be good artists but only few professional, knowing the real greats.

Do you need to? Maybe they were meant to be subtle? Maybe the "light" wasn't hitting them the right way? Yes artists are very critical but opions are like assholes... One artists eye isn't always the next.. I'm the next and think the piece is nice.

I've never heard of Michael Chan, I'll check him out right away :P

phoenix is right about the shadows. I just eyeballed the shadows on the ribbons and just used simple shapes on the bikers and towers, I really just wanted to get this one done, so I really didn't take the time to cast the shadows properly :] But more often then not, an indication is all the viewers eye really needs :)
