View Full Version : How do you tell a nurbs surface which edges 2 connect?

I have created two surfaces from cv curves. When I attach them however, rather that attatch at the obvious seam, Maya is attaching one edge from the seam and another edge from the other side of the second surface.

Does this make any sense?? I've tried reversing my surface direction to no avail. Any suggestions?

make sure you only reverse one of the surfaces. think of your objects like magnets...opposite poles repel etc...

also in your option box for connecting surfaces you should try using the swap surface direction on one of the objects too.

keep in mind that if it does not work you can try different options in the attach option box until it is right. or you can use your attribute editor to reverse the surfaces until it fits.

there are many ways to get around this problem....the best way is to make sure you build your object clean with good topology.

hope i helped instead of confused.

you can also try to select the both isoparms which you wanna connect. and then make attach surfaces.
