OK, been a while since I've had a chance to work on this guy and after a bit of tweaking and cleaning up (still some to do on the neck and chest from DXF import as well as the teeth) I'm still not entirely happy with this model.

Untextured as of yet so crits of the modelling only please ;) excepting the eyes.

Subsurfs (NURBS for the eyes) in Realsoft3D 4.26.42 Beta for Linux

Judging a cartoon character isn't easy since well.. it's your creation you can do whatever you so fit. So it all comes down to taste really.

IMO the face feels too flat.
And try to spend more polygons in the head to define the shape and perhaps fix some "mesh errors" (on the nose between the eyes and on the chins).

So far so good.. I love your hands, they're awesome. The hans are the one thing that really makes this character stand out! ;) Great job. Nothing to say on the body. You're going to give him some clothes, right? ;)

But as I said, it's all down to taste.

For some reason the eyes have only been a problem since I imported to RS3D but the chin (chins?) I've only just spotted some previously unseen tri's and other weirdness around the mouth (part of the tri -> quad conversion, not perfect but saves time)

The hands are a recently remodelled part which is, I guess, why they stand out a bit better (I been studying see :op ), maybe I should remodel a bit more substantially or maybe I should rig/clothe/hairify him now... :o/ not sure. I guess I'm concentrating on the parts to be most often seen bit I'm still feeling the arms are maybe a little too blocky.

As for the top of his head, I'm gonna put hair on him (soon as I get over the fear of modelling and texturing hair) so that's not a major concern.

Any more crits, ideas, guidance anyone?

C'mon people! I need crits! How is this little sapling supposed to flourish without encourangement *sob*.

OK, so that's laying it on a bit thick but I could do with a bit more feedback :op

Note: I've only just noticed that there's something a bit wong with the bottom of the ears.
