View Full Version : one particle on one vertex

Hello guys,

i got a model with 7000 vertices. And now i would like to have one particle on one vertex. I could do that by hand with the create particle tool......but that would take month. Is it possible to do that in a faster way?

emit your particles from your object and have max count at your total vert count.

if its set to surface emitter the particles will be emitted at a random point on the surface and not at the vertices. Omni seems to do the trick

hmmm i guess I was thinking of a goaled particle to a surface. :hmm:

Ok, i did many tests last night and figured it out. The best way is to create an emitter. Select particles and the surface, make a goal and set max count to the number of vertices. Now every vertex got its own particle. Emit from Object wont do the trick. Thx for your suggestions guy!!

that method wont put the particles on the vertices though. Just randomly over the surface

how else could I do this?

Goal particles to surface will goal them to the vertices.

Another way I discovered if you connect the pSphereShape1.worldMesh->particleShape1.inputGeometry the particles will position themselves at the vertices and if you then play with the SubDivisions on the history node, the particles will update themselves, no need for emitter or goals. Mind you this happens in local space.
