is it possible to sample the color value on a surface or texture, so that those values can be converted to data? So, for instance, if I had a checkerboard texture applied, the black values could be used do set an attribute to 0 and the white could set an attribute to 1. Would be most interesting if I could sample the values across a surface somehow, so that I could read various values depending on what part of the surface was sampled.
Could a value be queried at a UV?
