Hi !

Iīm new to Maya and I canīt find the way to delete an element in the construction history, like an Extrude Face or a Smooth....

Thereīs a way to do this, like in Max when you delete something from the modifier stack ?!?

Regards,

Gabriel Pasqualini.

Solesurvivor, that command deletes the whole history, but GabrielP propably wanted just one thing taken out at a time.

I haven't really ever done it, but you can delete one at a time with hypershade. Just open hypershade, select your object, press the button for "Show up- and down connections" (or something like that) and then just delete the element you want.

actually this is a job for the Hypergraph. the hypershade displays them also if you press "input output connection", but that's not really his job :)

so in the hypergraph press the "up and downstream connection" button. the one with the yellow rectangle branch out the the two grey rectangles.

Oh yeah, lol svenip good point
Damn, Maya is so big software that you can work with a totally different tool to do the job of a totally different tool untill your realize there is a different tool for the job... :)

Yes indeed. One of Maya's strengths is there's always more than one way to skin a cat :p

Yet another way to delete nodes in history:
Select your object, open the attribute editor, find the tab at the top for the node to be deleted and click on it. Hit the select button at the bottom, right click on a viewport to activate it and hit the delete key. Bye-bye node.

Yes, but is it possible to delete the history of a single node?.
When you delete the node the effect also go away. Is it possible to delete a single node and still keep the effect?

well, this is a very interesting question. actually there is no way to delete only on item out of the history list without deleting the effect itself. (at least i can't think of one) but you could go to the specific node in the history and in the AE under Node Behavior select waiting-blocking. then the effect is locked. but you cannot delete the item :(

the effect will not change till you explicit tell maya to do that.
