View Full Version : video capture
foofinu 10-02-2003, 08:23 PM Hey all. I was hoping some one might be able to advise me on the best way to capture game footage to a video file for editing? I've tried Camtasia, which produced bad frame rates at 640x480... But I know there's got to be something better out there. Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

hmm, the only way I can see you doing it well is getting a vga/rca adapeter and a rca to firewire adapter and feeding all that into another computer. Or you could feed it to a video camera or VCR and you wouldn't need the fire wire adapter, but you probably will need a fire wire adapter and/or card to get it back onto the computer. hope this helps

fraps sucks, i tried it and its not worth it. Best option is to hook your comp. witha VCR if you have Video Out, then record and after capture back in with sound and all. Quality of the video wont be like what you see on the comp. but its super smooth and lag free.
