Anyone have experience making cage objects for baking in xNormal?
Most every time I use my low poly object to make a cage, xNormal says the topology is different and won't take it.

Thanks. -Mike

Never heard of xNormal, but maybe it requires that low poly cage is using exactly the same points as high res?
Try with some simple case f.e. high poly-array of quads 2x2, then select corner points and make one single quad-low poly.

I had this trouble for a while too. I ended up creating my cage in xnormal's built in cage editor.
Its pretty easy to use and results are solid.

Hope this helps.

simon-s,

I've been using the built in cage extrude to good effect for a while now. Thanks though. :)
