Are you talking about the "ultimate" series? Or the Classic (Peter Parker, Amazing Spiderman) Series?
Who drew the one you used as a reference?

The series is Spiderman Deluxe by Joe Bennet.
I haven't a scanner, sorry. I model my spidey looking the comic.

I dug up some of my older (1997) comics and found some which were drawn by Joe Bennet (he was a guest drawer in those).
And I think you got some of the head wrong.
Here is a profile shot I scanned.

Are his eyes supposed to be so large? Is that the style? If it is, I would still say you need to adjust them.

The eyes are right. The design is not mine. In the scanned page Spidey have closed eyes.

Hmm, well I guess if you want it to be exactly like the reference it's ok. Personally, I think it's a little too exaggerated for the majority of people who are used to seeing Spiderman in a more traditional style(like myself).

ok, when I will scan the comic I'll post the image.

If it's faithful, that's fine, the modeling itself looks good, good work on the web bump and surfaces. Does seem strange to have the nose or nose-like structure up that high though. It really does seem the front of his face is gone. You going to do the rest of the body, too? Might all fit in with an overall style.
I was never a fan of the gigantic-eyed over-stylized spidey though, no matter who else is doing it lately..

I htink its funny when people post their work here for criticism, and then they cant see how it could be better, or even consider poeples suggestions

yeah, I do love that style that spidey has been illus'd of late with! the high almost cutoff nose looks mint and you've captured it nicely! dont give up to the 'it dont look like a real nose' post man, get the rest of him done, and do some animation tests that justify that style of illustration. keyfrm his eyes squinting and all that - it aint real but who cares!!!! :) keep it not real man! :-p

Thanks. I have made this choose because I think this style is more aggressive. I'll complete the rest of body very soon.
Heya Sevarf2. The face does indeed look quite pushed in and the nose is misplaced. You say you traced the reference drawing of Spidey but if you compare these two pics it's obviously off.
Note how the form of the mask (blue) follow the lines of the face (green) in the drawing. You can feel how the face looks like under that mask.
Hope that helps

I agree, spidey was best back in the days of larsen and mcfarlane, in my opinion.
