Realtime Worlds went into administration earlier this year after the release of APB, but untill today the game had remaind up and was still being played. Today it was anounced that the servers where to be shutdown and that all hope of selling APB as a going concern was gone. News Article (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11333582) APB (http://eu.apb.com/en)

You can still login as of right now, all acounts can play regardless of playtime remaining and the player cap had been raised to 100 per instance!

Sheesh, and I considered buying it last month. Glad I decided against it.

Make it open source and let the community host its own servers.

I recall a trailer showcasing the character editor and it being absolutely amazing. Too bad.

It cant be OpenSourced it based on the unreal engine! they could only release the art content.

But I think it would be such a waist if this were to be dumped on some companys HD never to be seen again, hopefully some one will buy it and use the content in there own game, I mean a human is a human and a AK47 is a AK47, dosnt matter were they came from.

Funny thing is that I had never heard of it until all this news of it being shut down started popping up.
