i dont know if this happens to anyone else, but i was wondering if anyone had an explination or solution.

i like to work with windows, like haveing my atribute editor as a window instead of docked. the problem happens when i minimize anything that comes up in a window in maya. the problem is that when i go to restore the window it has no size. i have to pull it back out to the size i want it. i know this is a silly problem, but after a while it just got annoying. it doesnt happen all the time. sometime ill restore my attribute editor and it will pop back up the size it was when i minimized it, but sometimes it just stays the size of the minimized title bar with a flat line on the bottom that i can pull on to resize it

sorry for the longish post, but i wanted to make sure i was coming across right

thanks
Eric

I've been having the same problem, can't figure it out... Sometimes maximizing it(full screen) and then going back to normal size works, at least it's better than dragging the edges out...

Try throwing out your 'windows' preferences in your Prefs folder to restore defaults

this still makes no sense at all.

this might be a software problem located either in the maya code or maybe the windows code.
it's what i recognized a difference wheater you run maya under windows 2000 or windows xp.
at windows 2000 it works perfectly.

but not so at windows xp.

already looked to other forums and even to the alias homepage in the section bugs and bugfixes with operating systems etc. but couldnd find any of this kind of reported bug/bugfix.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

i'm really frightened that this problem doesnt bother so many people and even the development departement of alias should have bee taken an eye on this really penetrating and annoying problem! ! ! !

i am stumped, helpless or whatever nobody knowing a solution for this to the user very present problem

Upgrading to maya 6 fixed this problem for me. (I have also upgraded OS and video-card, but Im pretty sure it was maya 6 that fixed it).
