I need to break an egg in my animation, and want the slimy contents to animate right. Max standard metaballs won't cut it.

What plug-in will?

Thanks in advance,
-Daniel

I just evaluated ClayStudio Max, it's no good since the metaball's surface doesn't look right when you have two small metaballs far away (but inside each other's influence field). The result is a convex, football-shaped surface, instead of the typical thin stretched string of slime.

So, please tell me that there is some other plugin that can manage!

Add a relax modifier above, it should work I guess, at least I hope so :)

If you want to be real hardcore about it, use Realflow. Unbelievable stuff.

Yep - was just about to suggest the same thing. You can fill you egg mesh with a viscous liquid and have it pouring out when it breaks!

If you get a chance, give it a go.

Very powerful.

If you don't have realflow, use morph targets... model it to move and react exactly the way you want it to.
