View Full Version : Export to Mudbox with texture assignments?

Hi all,
New to FBX. I'm trying to maintain my texture assignments from Maya to Mudbox to Maya however I lose them when exporting to Mudbox. I opened up my FBX settings and I see options to INCLUDE texture info but it's unselected and grayed out and I can't access it. I assume FBX automatically exports materials/textures anyway.

*Also made sure that 'import textures and materials' is checked on in mudbox.

*NOTE: this is a single poly object with per face shading. Is it perhaps because I have 2 different shaders on 1 object?

Any clues anyone?? Thanks!

Might be worth checking that you have a latest copy of the fbx importer/exporter (it should be on autodesk's site somewhere). One real annoyance is they update that plugin separately from maya/mudbox/max, etc, so it can become confusing sometimes whether you're using the latest and greatest.

Yeah, I have lambert2 assigned to some faces and lambert3 to others. It brings in lambert2 assigned to all of the faces so it seems that per face shading is not recognized.
