Interview with Animationmaui.com (http://collabnews.com) is up. :wip:

Read how three Animationmentor.com alumni joined forces to create a production site to demonstrate that an animated film can be produced in an online collab environment.

Wanted to take a sec to highlight a tidbit of collab news happening right here in our CGtalk (yeah, I still call it that )collab forums.

Underneath the few semi active threads we still have here, there's an ever expanding blackness on the collab forum screen. :scream:

This is the first time in over 7 years that the total active threads (not counting the "sticky") for the last month have dipped to 6! ...ok, adding this post brought it to 7, but you get the point I hope??

ARE OUR COLLAB FORUMS DEAD OR DYING? :surprised

KIRT and all the rest that still stumble in here- Your thoughts?
What can be done to get things revitalized?

Yeah, I meant your site...

also, I'm kinda new here so I'm still discovering various parts of this forum...I wasn't aware that this was an active part a while back...it would be cool if it would get back to it :applause:

but yeah...I'm looking forward to becoming an active member here...and I will most definitely hit you up regarding my film.

but in a nutshell, my belief is that in this day and age, with the advanced technology we have, a team of people can produce (with help from talented artists here and everywhere) EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY work for the price of a used car.

and that is what I'm going to explore starting from this year...so I'll definitely be hitting you up as I get my ducks in a row...

PS...I LOVE YOUR COLLAB SITE!!!

Yes, this section used to be very active and we were even getting the teams intercommunicating and helping work on each others projects....That's something we wanted to focus on to an even greater degree by building collabunlimited.com... so, glad you like the sites. :)

In general, the modern reality is, projects fall into a self serving, insular path. The technology becoming more accessible actually seems to mean people can do more of it by themselves.

Of course, you do get some individuals (there are still a few in this forum, and the FX wars has some collab efforts, which is great to see) that break the mold and share/work collaborative projects, but watching collabs over the last decade, the pattern becomes pretty clear.

Having said all that, I still hope to see this change, and fight not being swallowed up.

Feel free to contact me for anything you need. If I can help I will!

Best wishes on your QUEST! :wip:

New interview on Children of Sol is up at COLLABNEWS (http://collabnews.com)

We talk with Valentine Obasuyi creator of War In Hypercolor, the graphic novel department of COS.

This team is of special interest because it illustrates the advantages of two separate online collabs blending ideas and manpower.

The combined force has formed a thriving team thats prepping print and game releases wrapped around their COS scifi story lines

++++++++++++++++

Still hoping to get some leads on other collab teams around on the web -- some generous soul that has time to put an eye out (ouch! :) )will help out with this... :wavey:
