Hey everyone,
I am a student from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco.I am in the earliest stage of laying out a matte painting for my Thesis project. I notice that the multi-pass render and Z Depth render is disabled in Vue 8.5. Any idea how to get the multi-pass rendering to work?

Here is the screen shot of the render settings showing this:

A rendering of my matte painting layout:

Thanks,
Mukul.

Im still on Vue v7
The multi-pass render options are available when the Preset Render Quality is set to Final or better.

For some info on rendering in Vue have a look at this:
http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/tutorials/htm/48.html

and this
http://www.perpetualvisions.com/new-articles/render-settings/renders.html

I expect the findings still apply, unless the render engine has been significantly altered in the last couple of versions.

@andalusite

Thank you. It worked! I am wondering if there is any way to make the multi pass rendering work on user settings. I would like that to be case because that way, I can save a lot of render time!

Regarding multi-pass rendering, I know you can save out in the PSD format. Can you also save out multi-pass in the EXR format? Are there any problems to be aware of?

Thanks!
