this should be easy, but i'm a newb at this stuff...
i'm currently modelling a glass bottle using subd, i want some gold text on the front of the bottle similar to this:

what i've done so far is create a layered texture with my gold shader on top and my glass one underneath (am i on the right track so far??). my problem is masking out all of the gold except for where i want the text. i assume i make a mask in photoshop with the actual text, but i can't figure out how to align it in a specific place...
i've followed tutorials and looked up the help (3d placement etc), and i just can't figure how to do it when using subd's, if somebody could give me a pointer in the right direction that would be great.
