View Full Version : a field of petals and a slight breeze....How to do?

Hi all,

I have a small problem or a big problem, the choice. I have a field of petals like in the image attached. I would like to have a movement like a breeze, like a field of grass with wind. I would want petals move around their initial position. I would want the same effect as in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVKWWI7hwh4), but with a field of petals. My main problem is to make petals make a go and back with the petals.

all your tips are welcome. Once again, I need your help :)

You should be able to use lock/bond to get the grass field effect. Is that what you are after?

As always there are several ways of completing this process:

pflow and particle/object reference with large space mods attached


However, I saw this a while back, it might work quite well

floopyb : I have tested your scene with petals and it gives this video (http://vimeo.com/14823689). I want petals remain flat like this video (http://vimeo.com/14823731). I need to have a field of petals that move with the wind but return to their original position and move again and again and again. I hope I explained well.

pierechod : thank you for this video of fantastic joe gunn but it's not the effect i want to do. But it's interesting to see what he does with cloth.
