Hi,

All i've done is organic modeling & animation. Now i'm trying to setup skeleton & animation for robots. So how do I set this up?. So it moves & behaves like a machine. Like all the gears rotate the arms & legs without the organic bending of the surface object?

I hope you guys understand what I am saying.

I would really appreciate any imput from you guys. :)

Oh, i'm useing maya 4.5

personally i would use the model as the bones. Rather than having to creat bones and skin the model, just move the pivot points to the right places, and create IK chains using the pieces of the robot. Further than that though, i couldnt really help you. im still pretty new to character animation

Hey thanks!,

I'll try what you said:)

I did not know I could use the IK chains, without the bones, very interesting.
