Hi everyone, it has been quite some time since I've sat down and done a character from start to finish, and the few times I've posted in the standard W.I.P. section I've had mediocre results getting valuable critiques, so I would love to get some helpful insight as I make this guy and hopefully learn and gain some new insight from all of you as I go along!

This guy started as a sketch and I ended up fleshing him out for the most part, only to realize I had drawn him a bit too far down the page to complete his lower body, but since I'm going with standard legs and knees I'm not going to worry about it for now.

This is my concept, I plan on modeling him in Max and ZBrush. I will probably be starting in Max then hopping over to ZBrush to polish him up. Texturing will be done in Photoshop and ZBrush.
Apologies for the grainy photo, I don't have a scanner, and my camera is not especially good.

That drawing looks great! I think it might be a little better if you focused on the underlying structure of the anatomy though before you start modeling. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Not a fan of the eyes or the ear things. Everything else looks like it's going in a good direction.

Sorry for the long delay, labor day weekend kept me busy with family and friends!

DoctorMonkeyFist - Thanks for the reply! I had actually got started a bit modeling on his face before I saw your post, but I'm guessing you were meanin more of his anatomy as far as his body goes, and I do see what you mean. I'll take it into Photoshop and maybe do a paintover with some underlying bone and muscle structure, that would probably be more than beneficial.
Thanks!

CameronHughes - Thanks man, would you mind elaborating on what it is you don't like about his eyes and ears?

So here's a grab of what I have modeled so far, I will be taking his body reference into photoshop to fix some anatomical errors before I begin modeling his body.
Looking at this pic now I think I'm going to bring out his cheek bones just a bit more so they're more pronounced.

Update, got a chunk of his body modeled. I'm using a ZBrush mesh I used for an anatomy exercise to build off of. Here's my progress on the model.
