Nice! Very top of the line.
Especially, since ur friend didn't give you much to work with.
The creativity is amazing. Did your friend tell you what the monster should look like, or even give you a clue where the different body parts are cause that sounds like some tough stuff to deal with!
Anyway, my only critic is how that bird house thinggy looks like it is balancing on his shoulder, and not really part of the monster. You could make it look like some other roots are growing into his back, instead of just the front of his shoulder, just an idea.
I like the style you used as well.
Keep 'em comin!

The linegame is great for artistice block.. get a freind to draw a line.. complex or non complex.. and go with it.. use the line litterally in your artwork.... or use it as a gesture to go off of.
naughn - my friend didn't tell me anything to do with it... I think he came up with a pirate for his, but I've yet to see :) ... I used it as an oportunity to continue my series of golems.
and thanx for the pointer on the treehouse limb, since they are golems I wanted certain parts to be losely attached as to hint that an outside force was holding them together.. but I may have gone overboard with that part. :)
here's a link to conceptart.org.. where me and a friend have used obviouse lines to improve our coloring abilities...
that would have made a great mini-challenge
