Do you happened to remember the file resolution that these files comes with? is it 512x512 or higher?

www.realtexture.com offers texture collections up to 2000x1500 (depends on content, stitched images may be larger). available as tif, jpg and game versions, including bump/material/normal map. i hope this will help ;-)

142 Diffuse colour maps in two resolutions approx 1024x768 and 640x480. All taken from original photography and captured with high quality film scanner then made 100% seamless

Hand created from the colour map (not just a grey scale conversion) in many cases also very suitable for specular maps
