View Full Version : Challenge WIP: Konyn
Konyn 01-16-2002, 10:26 PM Hi all,
I'm not sure if I dare to put my work in here with all those talents.
But since my last job (parttime, I'm still studying) discussion stranded on the wages. I could use some (new) work to put in my portfolio. And off course I realy like this challenge, great subject!
so, with no further delay,
my sketch:

I havn't decided if I go with 2D or 3D, (not sure if I can find the time to do 3d)
but here is a quick Photoshop update:

I know the images are big, but I kept the filesize the filesize below 35 kb, so I hope this shouldn't be a problem for people with slow connections.
C&C are welcome,
thanks in advance,

Cool concept !
Come on make it 3D !
You can play with the ambiguity : Who is the master ? Him or his artificial limb ! ;)

thx,
that's a nice idea Krep Suzeth, would be fun for an animation, maybe some sort of malfunction.
btw. thx for the addition to my vocabulary :p

Here's a little update, I finished the colouring and started to give him some volume. Still far from finished, a lot of lines need to be refined and I also want some more details.

@ bassaminator: Could you explain the "Dr. Suess looking"?

'Dr Suess'- I don't know his real name- did famous childrens (and adults) cartoons/storys/poems. They're a bit bizarre in a good way- cat in the hat, the grinch, thars (with stars) and he has some characters who look a lot like yours. they sometimes also fly with strange contraptions, like beanie caps. heres a link to an image of one of his books:http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0394809378.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
. anyhow, now you can find his full name.
P.S.: I meant it as a compliment: as too say: affable, quirky, funny and giving me a hint of that "suess" feeling :D

ok, I know I'm a real lamer I didn't make it in 3D, but I'm (still) realy busy with a school project and I realy couldn't find the the time to do a decent model. I hope to find more time for the next challenge. :o
@bassaminator: thx for the "Dr. Suess" compliment :)
