hi .. everyone i'm not new to maya/modeling but i mostly model cars and such things as that .. nothing organic like humans ..


i attempted to model a head following the edgeloops as i've seen others do .. but damn jus looking at another persons wireframe and try to apply it to mine doesnt seem to work ...seems really hard

can anyone give me inputs or point me to any links that could help me .. learn this .. i'm really interested .. i struggle mostly around the nose area .. (nostrils and all)


anything would help me out .. thx .. :)

right now i'm trying to make a cartoon head .. but its jus not working out .. it really really sucks ehhe

Doc,

Go to www.3dtotal.com. Click on the tutorials link for Joan of Arc. It got a clear head tutorial, including the nose and mouth cuts.

I learned a lot about face modeling from Dan Ablan's Inside Lightwave 6 or 7 book, particularly the nose. A great tutorial is on thehobbitguy.com. He also has links to some other great tutorial sites.

Use wings 3D and then obj import it into maya.

The wings 3d forums have lots of great info and links as well for edgeloop modelling.

Also check out spiraloid if you haven't already.
