View Full Version : glass texture with refraction
Keren 09-29-2003, 09:02 PM Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a glass ball and create refractions on the images inside to make it look like a fortune teller's crystal ball?

do you have samples of what you want to make?

I think that in general, crystal balls or movies with them make the image inside distorted like a fish-eye lens. If you have some compositing software it should be capable of this. Depends if your camera is locked-down or not.
In 3D you could maybe make a second sphere slightly larger than the cyrstal ball with flipped normals and apply a texture to the inside. You may also want to make it constantly face the camera, with a look-at type of controller or script. Hey, its just an idea.
