Hi, I am still very much a beginner at modelling and am just trying my hand at the different techniques out there. In alot of video tutorials I've seen, the teacher has dissed maxes nurbs, in several saying get maya or nurbs in max forget about it. Why is that? I was thinking about buying another modeller to compliment max, I was thinking rhino 3d, is it worth it?
I am starting to get more comfortable with poly modelling and sub d's and feel as though it is a capable techinique for any model. Is there a need for nurbs and splines? I mean, can you get away with poly modelling without learning other techniques?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks :)
