I have been working on animations for quite a while now. I have decided to start with walk cycle because i have heard once you master a walk cycle you can create any animation you feel like. PLease give your honest feedback; don't hold back So please take a look at the walk cycles below and tell me witch ones you like the most and tell me what to improve.

Ha ha, nice little fella.

The head, shoulders and pelvis are too stiff and have no roll yet. The pelvis, rotates not only in the vertical axis but also the front axis (horizontal). Check out a sexy chick walk to see the hip movement. We all walk like that, just not as pronounced. The spine also bows from side to side and the shoulders change position to accommodate for the shift in weight as does the head. The head bobs up and down because the body does. You got the good stuff happening with the toes. The knees are popping slightly, you can fix that by lowering the pelvis a touch.

Walking is a controlled forward fall which we use to propel ourselves forward. Show the start of the walk, and end where the model has to lean back to catch itself. That will keep you busy!

I tried to incorporate everything that you said.

I have realized that my weakness is the upper-part of the body, and the hips.

I believe i have done my best with the legs.

Anyhow, just let me know what ya think.

Yeah I think that looks a lot better. Try walk across the room like he is doing, does it feel a bit held in, or restricted? Still a bit stiff, the steps are very short and quick even for a small figure.

I have made a render of the legs. How do they look so far.

Am i missing any movements of any legs?
Hows the foot roll and leg movement?
What view of my walk is the weakest?



srry for all the questions :P
but i need to know in order to get better :)
