View Full Version : UV mapping in Maya

Hi everyone, I'm trying to map out my building wall .. after i mapped it out and took a uv snap shot of it and bring it up in to photoshop and i tired to some texture and when i bring it back to maya and put it up on the wall all the textures seem to be stretch .. isn't the uv snap shot suppose to stay excatly as the wall? then how come it stretch ??? any idea???

UV snapshot just generates bitmap image from your uv's. If your uv's are already stretched, then the only solution is to fix the uv's in the uv editor. Taking a snapshot of them doesnt bake the uv's or anything.
Take a look at the great uv tutorial over in the texturing and surfacing forum.
