Shouldn't be a problem i suspect, but you failed to explain what it is exactly you need help with?

What's the problem?

Hi :)

Well your question is not too clear for me, but here goes:
- Your aplha need to be in a diferent file or it can be in the same file?
Well alphas are shades of grey so, if you have the need to have 2 diferent files (one for the RGB and other for the Alpha), then all you need is the RGB in one file and another file with the shades of grey that makes de aplha info. You con use the alpha channel inside the same file creating a new channel in Photoshop channels and painting that channel. Photoshop help file has info about that I suppouse.

Sorry for not being able to help you more :\

See ya! 8)
