View Full Version : Hotkey for last plugin command?
Cyborgguineapig 09-28-2003, 10:35 AM Is there a hotkey for the plugin/execute last plugin command? I find it tedious that I have to keep going up to the plugin menu just to repeat the same plugin command on different parts of my mesh. Anyone know?

Oh freakin awsome I never knew this. Under window/layout/command Manager you can manually asign hotkeys to everything in Cinema! Very very nice, is this a cinema 8 thing? I am pretty sure I read the entire manual but don't remember this, how cool. This saves me tons of time!

Nope, this is simply a Cinema thing. The only thing new in the last update is that you can also assign mouse buttons (up to 5) instead of only keys.

do you know if there is a hot key for toggling full screen with just the screen no menus

like the space bar in Maya? No such thing as a standard (the space bar toggles between active tool and arrow selector). And as far as I know, it's not possible to assign hotkeys to layouts (disregarding the F1 and the like). We should add that to the wishlist.

I see you use both maya and c4d too. I had been trying to figure that out for days now I can put my effort in trying to get that to be a added feature. I love being able to toggle to full screen so usefull dont know why it isnt?

Even so, you just create a layout with nothing but the window. I did it a couple of months back, when a Maya user friend of mine asked if it could be done.

Sure you can, but the problem is that this is simply not handy in C4D. In Maya, you can have an empty interface, and access every command and function by using the hotbox - just keep on pressing the spacebar, and you have everything within reach. So in Maya in makes sense to hide everything, because you can always make it appear by pressing a key. In C4D, this is not the case.
Of course, this has nothing to do with the original question. It is currently not possible to assign a hotkey to a layout, and it would be really handy if it were possible. Just imagine switching between your own different layouts - perhaps even one with nothing but the perspective view - by pressing the right key. Would be a marvel :)
I do this kinda layout with tabs. I have found if you press the objects hot key twice like d d for extrude it will bring up the little manager window.
so its not all that unfeasable.
