same character but different little things...

He's supposed to look like a dumb character, not bright. Like dopey from the seven dwarfs. He's also suppose to be a bit of a muppet type character, not very photo-real, more cartoon or fantasy looking.

I want him to come across as being able to say drmatic lines and at different times, be funny and foolish.

open to ideas as to how this character hits you. He's one of three main characters in a short film that's a cross between, legend, the dark crystal, and LOTR's.. It's a strong story idea.

The bottom image has better balance, but in that he looks evil and menacing, not (from your description) what you want . So that leaves the top one, i really like the big creases and lines to his face i bet with some tweaking he can have great character. I tihink the main problem is the ears, they seem a bit stuck on and geometrical, also his eyes look quite serious which is at ods with the rest of the model.

Maybe if his ears were more droopy, mouth very slightly asymetric (maybe hanging open), nose less sniveling/sniffing looking it may capture what you want.

Great hair btw, whats it done in?

Looking good. If you want him looking dopey pull the bottom of the nose back a bit. He looks kind of stuck up atm and a bit evil. The current eyes also make him look very aware of his environtment, maybe close em a bit. Just pretend he just smoked a doobie :)

Reminds me of the Gremlin on the Wing in The Twilight Zone movie.

I like the overall shape of the ears, but the inside forms need to be more defined.

the hair was my first attempt at shag hair. It worked great as you can see.
