Hi everyone, Im totally new to Nuke, so bear with me :)

Whenever I read in a sequence of images, large multicoloured pixels appear all over the images which are definitely not on the original source images. The dots sometimes even move around the image if i click 'reload' on the read node settings.

It's the watermark The Foundry uses to prevent you using the PLE to do commercial work. Annoying but shouldn't prevent you learning how to use Nuke.
