i was following a tutorial called "better SubD modeling" right here on CGtalk... the idea is to make an instance subD version of the poly object, replacing the subD proxy with a bounding box for better viewing the subD... this technique seems to work for some object but not all...
i've heard that there is a way to do this via MEL scripting...it is supposed to be in the maya fundamental book... anyone know how to do this?
