In my comm. tech class we were asked to create a playing card design using our portraits and the regular conventions of playing cards, done in Illustrator. I picked two of diamonds, which I think fits my pose quite nicely (or rather, the pose fits the card quite nicely). Not many conventions used, as twos generally didn't have that many to start out with. The dimensions are proper, the placement of the corner signs is proper, and the general position of the two diamonds should be about right.

I've spent around 6-7 hours on this, I think, and this is my first work in illustrator. I've played around with vectors in flash before, but never this seriously. I am actually quite pleased with it. Note: the red eyes are left red on purpose, to match the red suit.

Here it is: final (http://members.rogers.com/darkbetatester/card/final.jpg)

You can also take a look at my boring progress shots, a closeup of the face, the "wireframe" (outlines) of the shapes I've used in this work, and the original photo (taken by my dad).
