Glow from fire will be rendered on character. So what do you think? Am I on the right track? Is there anything that I should change?http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_13CLOEbs_U0/TGIbOnd0k1I/AAAAAAAAAQo/6WvCNBZL_Ys/s1600/grayland.jpg

I'm not sure why there are 2 images, but the top one looks more complete so I'll assume the bottom one is an earlier WIP.

Anyway, it looks awesome, very interesting subject...nice realism on the foreground subject.

Are we seeing a mage through a spaceship window? Seems a bit contrived or odd scenario...why is his staff all fired up if he has no opponent, and why did you choose this behind perspective?

The proportions on the statue bother me. In general I think you need to accentuate depth changes more by using more contrast (ie, darker darks as well as small highlights and curvature shading)..especially on the background. I like that it is in fog, but it looks like a 2D scene with fog over it. The foreground subject also looks a bit flat just not as much.
