please help me settle this problem.THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Below is what i got after typing maya in console

[root@localhost freefly]# maya

maya encountered a fatal error

Signal: 6 (Unknown Signal)
Segmentation fault
[root@localhost freefly]#

I answer this question a while back, but have now forgot the details. But it has to do with replacing one of the opengl or one of its related toolkit dlls or libs from the Mandrake 9.1 with the ones from the Maya CD. The solution is in www.highend3d.com forum. Please search at highend forum replies for the exact dll or lib name as I have no time at this moment.
