View Full Version : Object: Xbox controller
gsr367 09-26-2003, 01:19 AM I am fairly new to modeling and this is my first post to the forums. This is the first model that I am really proud of. I modeled it in 3DS Max. Let me know what you think.

Good try. It's a bit too glossy and reflective. My x-box controller has a matte finish. There's a funky shadow going on too-not every light has to cast a shadow.

too much reflection, and lack of texture... if u compare it to the real xbox controller, it doesnt act like this...
but pretty good job on modeling
The 4 buttons and white+black buttons don't have the right shape. Otherwise looking good except for above-mentioned crits.

Yeah, I know that the textures are too reflective and glossy, but it's the only way that I could get the black material to show up with the lighting. It was an assignment for school and we had to have a 3 point light set-up. I haven't had too much experience with lights so this was the best I could do. Sorry if it isn't up to everybody's standards.

Good try, it looks nice. One thing about black, there´s no such thing as a 100% black (in an object that is), so you should try playing with a dark gray, and go from there. Good modeling, only the buttons mentioned (colored ones) need some work. Nice start.
