View Full Version : 3D Paint
Mikkel Jans 05-27-2002, 05:44 PM I wonder why i can't just create a automatic UV map on my model and then 3D paint on it?.
Why does it make strange things around the UV borders?. shouldn't be possible for 3DPaint to automatic walk between the UV seems?.. Sometimes it just paint on some random areas on my model.
Is there any smart tricks to make 3D Paint work better?.. Other then create a better UV map.

this sounds strange to me :hmm: . the automatic mapping produces UV coordinates just like every other mapping and you should be able to work on these with 3D Paint.
what kind of modell is it ? (actually this shouldn't be any reason for the error, but i've seen elefants fly)
have you looked at your Texture View how it looks like then you paint on it ?
i've tried it on a very complex modell and it has worked out correctly just as expected :(

It's jump between UV borders.. But it could be better. It's hard to cover the seems. You can see on the coler where my seems are.

do you have an image ?
to cover the seems you could use the clone mode and paint from one piece border to the other face border. at least this should cover the borders.

Thats a good idea. Clone is working fine to cover the seems.
