View Full Version : Need Help in Building a new Desktop

Hello Guys !!
am planning for a new desktop and need your help in building this machine .... below i'll mention with whatever i had in my mind and also need some clarification on graphic card.... I would be using Max and Maya mostly with FumeFX, RayFire, Blastcode and also realflow. here goes my config:

i7 930 with intel original mobo or Xeon (also there is no documentation on i7 930 model in the intel website check it here http://www.intel.com/consumer/products/processors/corei7-specs.htm)
16 gigs of RAM
1TB HDD
and am confused about the NVIDIA Quadro FX series or anything equivalent to quadro series in ATI Radeon please do suggest me on this one,

and also feel free to comment on all the above mentioned (or not mentioned) config..

I prefer building desktops out of glass or granite, but you can also use wood just fine. Really up to you and your budget, and what you're comfortable with!

For example, granite desktops are very hard, and when you set a glass cup down or something, you'll hear the tell-tale "clink" of almost-breaking glass every time... Sometimes softer is better, just depends!
