Hi folks -
I apologize if this is been answered before ... but ....
I'm looking to do some texturing with a program other than photoshop.
1) any recommendations?
2) any freeware?

If there is a thread about this please let me know. I searched and didn't find one.

EDIT - btw - having googled on the topic I came up with Jasc Paint Shop Pro, and Project Dogwaffle. Would either of these fit the bill?

There is a Win port, but I can't say how stable the current version is. I've played with earlier version of Gimp for Win, and it only crashed when I used Script Fu.

Corel Painter is also quite useful for texturing... the have a free trial at their site!
