This guy is unreal! Such a great concept artist.
He has really inspired me to re visit my roots in traditional art. (Something that I had let slip a bit in favor of this box on my desk) It’s nice to see some more of his work. You should check out his web site, loads of kick ass work.

Those DVDs sound mighty tempting, I think I might have to try and get my grubby little hands on them.

u know, one day I stubleled upon feng's site during a google search of "concept art" and when I found it I was like "omg The holy grail of insparation" he in his drawing inspire me to model, and I thought I was one of a few who knew of him and his great art.Now I see you all know him, and I'm glad he is well known cause he sure deserves it ;)

Feng is a kind of role model for me when it comes to drawing things as well as Juan Gimenez. So thank you very much for this interview!!

Because I can't draw that much in my sparetime I always enjoy viewing such great drawings and pictures. It is inspiring to me and I hope I can get back to drawing as soon as possible ...

Thanks for that and I'm lookin' forward to see more stuff like that around here !!! :)

Thanks to Alex and Feng for putting these out!

Can't wait to devour these DVDs.

Now if only we can get a serious kick ass 3D modeler to do a SubD/Poly/CPS character modeling series for Gnomon!!

Like:
Daniel Szecket cranking out some intense model...

or

Alex showing how to make Zufur head to toe!!

Anyone agree with this???

I dig the Poly stuff Darrin did with the frog - but need to master more complex head and body - like Zufur!!!

Dan
ps. Standing by with credit card in hand for Fengs DVD

The article says that Feng "completed college with a major in Product Design and a minor in Entertainment Design" when in fact Feng, realizing that he was already good enough, dropped out of school to go work at Origin. Showing once again that you don't need a fancy piece of paper to make it big, you just need talent and hard work! :applause:

Anyone know how much these DVDs will cost?

tjnyc
09-25-2003, 08:10 PM
It will most likely cost the same as other Gnomon DVDs, $69. I believe there will be an Analog Bundle deal, 4 Feng Concept DVDs + 2 Sculpture DVDs at 10% off the total price. I'll be buying all 4 of Feng's DVDs when they are available on the 29th. Can't wait to check them out.

Feng is not only a great designer, he's a cool guy too!

If you like the DVDs and seriously want to become a concept designer, apply to Art Center! He is who he is because he put a lot of hard work into what he loves doing.

This is the funniest thread I have ever seen. Peasants... you will worship him... :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:
J/K
For real though... he is definitely obtained some mad skills and I have learned more than hoped for from his instruction.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if I could get a discount on the DVD's if I have previously taken his class? It seems senseless to pay for the class and the DVD's. I would like them to keep the fading thoughts and techniques he taught in my repertoire.

I wish I had the chance to go at some art-related school, but now only at 21 years old I actually want to do this for a living and not only am I way past school but there is basicly no such school here in Montreal.

Hey man I am 24 and married and my wife and I just moved from our home town so I could go back to school. Right now it is 100% funded by loans but I wont let it slip away and wonder if I could have done it. So go for it.

UPS has to deliver to a home or office so that some one can sign for it and they can hand the package to a person. They wont go to a post office box because there wont be anyone to sign for the package.

yes it will cost more for 1-2 day shipping, not sure how much though.
